With only a couple weeks away, here at the Top 10 Reasons You Should Attend OSMF 2019…no really!

  1. The Music. The lineup is the biggest its ever been, featuring the best in modern Americana Roots and new talent bound to become festival favorites. This year we’re proud to have Grammy-award winners Brandi Carlile and Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit headline.
  2. The Land. Old Settler’s moved in 2018 to a beautiful piece of heaven in Caldwell County, just outside Tilmon, TX. This land is our land; the festival finally has a permanent home – the Homestead.
  3. The Community. Our staff, volunteers, and patrons are the best folks around, ready and willing to lend a helping hand to make this festival the best on the planet. Bring your friends, and expect to make some new ones.
  4. The Vibe. The Old Settler’s vibe is chill. Real Music. Done Right. Only in Texas.
  5. The Vendors. Craft beer, cider, wine, tasty non-alcoholic beverages, a delicious variety of food (including ethnic, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options), and artisans and craftspeople add additional layers to the experience, ensuring that your every need is met.
  6. Location, Location, Location! The Homestead is centrally located just a hop, skip, and jump away from all major Texas cities! Only an hour drive from Austin or San Antonio. Approximately a two-hour drive from Dallas or Houston.
  7. The Open Mic. Hosted by John Ims and Fletcher Clark, early bird festival-goes can enjoy an open mic night on Wednesday. Jamming in the campground has always been a huge part of what makes our festival special, and this year we give our jammers a chance to showcase their talent on stage for all to see and hear.
  8. Late Night Fun. Camp ShhhhTimes is back for campers who can’t get enough music, even in the wee hours of the night. These unplugged sets captivate a quiet audience (Shhhh!) and will feature some of the OSMF main stage acts as well as a lineup of emerging musical artists.
  9. The Press. After settling into our new home at The Homestead last year, this is a festival that cannot be missed. USA Today just named OSMF #5 out of the top-ten Music Festivals in the United States.
  10. The Kids’ Activities. Along with Saturday’s prestigious Youth Talent Competition (presented by The Center For Texas Music History), we have the informal Kiddie Talent Show for all children ages 12 and under on Sunday. During the fest, kids can play games, go to the petting zoo, have an interactive bubble experience, and participate in sing-alongs at impromptu concerts and storytellings.
