Batty Junior is an indie folk band born and raised in Austin, TX. Frontman and songwriter Zeke Jarmon has been captivating listeners in Austin since childhood, originally playing washboard for Texas music legend Ponty Bone at the tender age of 5. Batty Junior formed when Jarmon began collaborating with Wild Child’s Sadie Wolfe on cello, and has grown to include UT Jazz alumnus Taylor Turner on bass, and Ringo Deathstarr’s Daniel Coborn on drums.

Batty Junior’s debut record “From The Land Of Insofaras” was released in February of 2017 and was received warmly by the local music community, described as having “brilliant lyrics, identity, melody, humor” (Shakey Graves) and “the freshness and the authenticity of someone who probably doesn’t look in the mirror too much” (Do512).

Their second record, “WoRMHoLES” was released in August 2018. Recorded in Marfa, Texas in a friends house, it captures the funkiness of Austin and Marfa in photographs of song and spirit. “‘WoRMHoLES’ teems with improvised life and Texan ingenuity,” states the Austin Chronicle’s 4-star review. “[It] welcomes a captive listener under the tin roof of a studio and inducts them as an official member of the Austin crew’s off-kilter universe.”

As Zeke Jarmon once said, “We’re just a band that prefers getting rained on when it’s raining. Join us!”
