Katy Kirby is a very inexperienced songwriter from Spicewood, Texas. Last year, she nearly died from shock at the honor of taking first place in the Old Settler’s Music Festival youth competition. She’s living in Nashville right now to attend Belmont University, and thinks that it is the second best music city in the world. One day, she aspires to approach the songwriting greatness of musical gods such as Andrew Bird, the Avett Brothers, Willy Mason, Ben Howard and Sufjan Stevens. She also enjoys embroidery, learning curse words in other languages, and smoking her beloved pipe, “old faithful.”
