More Artists Added to OSMF Lineup
One-of-a-kind troubador Martin Sexton joins the Del McCoury Band, Justin Townes Earle, the Carolina Chocolate Drops and many others for the 26th Annual Old Settler’s Music Festival. Describing Sexton, the Los Angeles Times said, “Call him a soul shouter, a road poet, a folkie or a rocker and you wouldn’t be wrong.”
Northeasterners Della Mae & Lake Street Dive also join the OSMF roster. Della Mae is five women that are turning heads, winning hearts, and quickly becoming a household name in acoustic, folk, roots, and bluegrass music. They combine good picking with serious songwriting chops to make one sweet sound. They’ll have a new record out on Rounder in January, but until then, check out this.
Lake Street Dive is a four-piece birthed from Boston’s New England Conservatory Jazz program. Composed of drummer Mike Calabrese, bassist Bridget Kearney, vocalist Rachael Price, and trumpet-wielding guitarist Mike “McDuck” Olson, Lake Street Dive have been described as “Adele jamming with some combination of country & bluegrass pickers.” Over a half million people have seen their sidewalk version of “I Want You Back” on YouTube.
