We want to introduce you to some pretty cool new artists – The Giving Tree Band (Sat), Dirtfoot (Sat), and John Fullbright (Fri).
Illinois-based Giving Tree Band share not only their music but a love of nature. Described as progressive old time, eco-billy, and indie folk rock, the band practises sustainability, using instruments built from naturally fallen trees and reclaimed woods, producing music with renewable energy, and packaging everything with recycled materials.
Dirtfoot is a terrific Americana band out of Shreveport, Louisiana that plays “gypsy-punk-country-grumble-boogie.” Full of energy and creativity, Dirtfoot wows crowds and invites plenty of audience participation. You won’t be able to stop dancing.
John Fullbright is an old-soul-young songwriter from Okemah, Oklahoma, birthplace of Woody Guthrie. John caused quite a buzz at his last two appearances at the International Folk Alliance in Memphis, Tennessee. His first studio album may be out in time for Old Settler’s.
